Open Call: Bedminster Green Plot 3 Artist Residencies

Two opportunities are now live for artist residencies at the Metal Works on Dalby Avenue, part of the Bedminster Green regeneration. The residencies are being managed by Ginkgo, a public art consultancy working across the regeneration area.

The two residencies are part of the Futureweave public art strategy for Bedminster Green, developed in partnership with a ‘hive’ group of local residents and community representatives. Each residency explores themes of place, history and community but with a distinct focus.

Residency one – A River’s Path

  • Focus: The River Malago and its ecological and historical significance
  • Residency: March–September 2025 (p/t)
  • £30,000 (including fees and materials)
  • Open to Bristol & South West-based artists working across disciplines

Residency two – Common Threads

  • Focus: Energy, sustainability, and connections between people and place
  • Residency: Mid-March to end of September 2025 (p/t)
  • £20,000 (including fees and materials)
  • Open to Bristol & South West-based artists exploring themes of transformation and community

Both residencies encourage community engagement and innovative creative responses to Bedminster’s evolving landscape.

Deadline for expressions of interest is 5pm on Friday 2th February 2025.
